Your best friend was just asked to prom. By the guy
you like— who is sooooo attractive. They’ve been on three dates since and now
they are a couple. You just renewed your subscription to “Sucks to be Single” Magazine.
I haven’t been in that exact scenario but one very
close to it. Doesn’t it feel terrible to
be single? Okay. That, my friend, is a lie. The lie that you need a boyfriend to be
happy/complete/worth something/fill-in-the-blank. Truth is, you DON’T. You’re saying “Yeah, yeah, but it still feels
bad to be alone.”
Ready for a
mind blow? You’re not alone! “OOH!
OOH! I KNOW! God is with me, right?” You read that in a sarcastic voice. But yes!
If that doesn’t do anything for you yet, then keep reading.
"Nobody really believes that, do they?" |
ANSWER: Yes, there really are people who believe that quote.
Okay think about this:
It’s totally fun to try and pick out the guy we want
to marry. We’ve all done it at least a few times…probably even more than a few
times. But we don’t always have the best taste do we? God is a bazillion times
better at matchmaking than us craaayzay females…sorry to crush your dreams girls.
God will literally put the perfect guy in our lives at
the perfect time. Doubt me? Ummm ask any Christian you know who is married. He
will just give us the right guy!
So…WHY ARE WE RUSHING HIM??? Yeah my
mind is pretty blown right now.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Focus on getting yourself ready. We have insanely long lists of things we want
our guys to be (generous, respectful, sincere, compassionate…etc.) but we
probably don’t have lists half as long of things we want ourselves to be. We need to realize that we have to work on
the things that we ourselves want in a guy ‘cuz trust me…we are not as ready
for a boyfriend as we think. XO Charlotte
